Welcome to the 40th Annual Scientific Meeting of the New Zealand Pain Society

The 40th Annual Scientific Meeting of the New Zealand Pain Society returns to Auckland for the 25-29th March, 2015. On behalf of the Organising Committee, I invite you to register for this prestigious event.

“Pain through the Ages” promises an expansive programme to examine pain and its repercussions across the age spectrum from the neonate to the aged. For the first time, this conference will reserve a specific day, Wednesday 25th March, to focus on pain in childhood in a combined Australia and New Zealand Special Interest Group collaboration. Abstracts for this Special Interest Group are also welcomed.

To ensure a successful conference, a well-recognised international faculty has been confirmed with Professors Suellen Walker and Chris Eccleston heading the paediatric programme and Professor Allan Basbaum headlining the adult pain curriculum and giving the Patrick Wall Lecture. The faculty will be bookended by Associate Professor Bettina Husebø and Professor Stein Husebø, who will provide insights into the care of the elderly person in pain, and Professor Andrew Somogyi, who is an expert in pharmacology and pharmogenomics.

We look forward to welcoming you to Auckland to join us for our 40th ASM and help celebrate this milestone.
